What Are Neuromodulators?
Neuromodulators are injectable treatments that temporarily relax the muscles responsible for causing wrinkles and fine lines. Botox, Dysport, and other neuromodulators work by blocking nerve signals to the targeted muscles, which prevents them from contracting and forming wrinkles. These treatments are FDA-approved and commonly used to treat dynamic wrinkles—wrinkles that form due to muscle movement, such as those around the forehead, eyes, and mouth.
How Neuromodulators Work
During the procedure, a small amount of neuromodulator is injected into the targeted muscles using a fine needle. The treatment typically takes only 10-15 minutes and requires no downtime.
